Updates 9/13

Good Afternoon,

Please take a moment to review the following information:
Homework/Math Test: Students have Math homework tonight pages 185-187. These are the review pages of the chapter! They are super important for students to complete as it will help them for their new testing date of Monday, September 17th. We needed more time to review as Factors & Multiples can be a hard concept especially if students are not confident with their multiplication facts.

Library: Tomorrow we have library, please remind your student to bring their books to exchange or renew.
Weekly Multiplication Homework: Beginning Monday, September 17th, students will have nightly multiplication homework. Some of the pages will be very basic but the skill behind the activity can be used across standards if they need another strategy to solve. The work on the pages will get more difficult as the weeks go on. This should last approximately 2-3 weeks (No homework on Fridays). With this being said, we may have other homework during the week that will also need to be completed along with the 1 page of multiplication homework sent home. Inside of their homework folder they will have a recording sheet that will need to be signed by you nightly and they will color it in the next day when they turn in their work to me. Very lengthy but I hope it makes sense!
APTT: Don’t forget that next Wednesday, August 19th will be our first APTT meeting from 4:30-5:30 in the Library! We hope to see you all there to discuss our year long goals!
Community Service Project: We will be participating in a school wide community service project! We will be making hygiene bags that will be donated to a local mission to help those in need. Our goal is to make 500 bags with the donations that we receive! 4th grade is in charge of bringing in combs to be placed into the bags. We would love any form of donation that you can give whether it be with a comb(s), cash or gift card to support our community service project.

Reading/Math/Science Tests: Due to my absence today, students assessments for the week will be pushed back a day. We will review tomorrow for Science and test on Wednesday. For ELA, we will test on Thursday and Math will be on Friday over Chapter 3!
Progress Reports: Please make sure you have signed your students progress report and have returned it to school. I will be checking for them tomorrow!
APTT: Just like last year, we will be holding APTT (Academic Parent Teacher Team) meetings! We will be focusing on Fractions as it is a huge percentage of standards taught in 4th grade. The meeting will be next Wednesday, September 19th from 4:30-5:30 in the gym! We look forward to seeing you that evening to set goals and discuss strategies for helping at home!
