Teacher Bio

Welcome!  This is my 6th year at Trailside Point and my 8th as a transplant in sunny Arizona.  I’m originally from Palatine, Illinois and graduated from Roosevelt University with a major in History and a minor in Secondary Education. I also hold a Masters Degree in Gifted Education from Arizona State University.  I’ve been in the education field for about 10 years in various positions ranging from paraprofessional to high school teacher.

I’m very big into music and sports!  I’ve been playing guitar for over 20 years and enjoyed my time in recording studios, playing concerts, and teaching guitar lessons.  I try to inject music into my lessons any chance that I get especially with my Rockstars of the Month recognition.  I’m also the softball coach here at Trailside and love baseball.  Go White Sox!

My goals for this year is to reach as many learners as possible.  I want my students to make connections to current events and critically think and question our history.  I want the transition to be as smooth as possible from middle school to high school for each student as well.
