Classroom Information
Practicing PAWS in Science:
- Practice Respect
- Give respect and kindness to everyone in the room at all times
- Use lab equipment the way you are instructed to
- Not every experiment will give the same results, or might take a few extra tries – that is OK!!
- Accept Responsibility
- If you make a mess, clean it up
- If you make a mistake, fix it
- If you cause damage to another person’s property or self, apologize and find a way to fix the situation
- Work Together
- Most labs will be done in partners or small groups; everyone must participate and be involved in the lab process
- Ask for help when you need it; do not wait until the last minute when it is too late
- No one knows everything; together we know a lot. Use each other to build explorations and prove your hypothesis
- Stay Safe
- Follow rules for each lab exactly as they are presented to you!
- Long hair MUST be pulled back during the hands-on explorations!
- NO FOOD OR DRINKS at the tables during hands-on explorations! No exceptions! Drinks will be left on the side counters ONLY.
- If cell phones are being used for a portion of an assignment, they can ONLY be used for that purpose, and only when instructed to do so
