What we are learning:
In Math
Students will continue working on adding and subtracting within 1000. Students will use a variety of strategies to help them in arriving to the correct solution.
In Reading
Skill: I identify the main Idea and key details that support the main idea.
Were in Unit 1 Week 5 in Reading Wonders and our stories we are working on will be, “A Mountain of History” and “A Landmark Street”.
In Writing
In quarter 1 (August- Mid October) students will be working on writing informational writing. We are working on creating paragraphs that include an opening statement, three relevant key details, and a closing statement.
In Social Studies
Students will work on the meaning of responsible digital citizenship.
Spelling Practice 9/10-9/14
This upcoming week we will be working on understanding and applying the 5 jobs of “e.” We have created a list below that shows two examples for each job of e. These words will be similar to what your child will be tested on. We are looking for your child’s ability to apply their knowledge of , the 5 jobs of “e”. The second grade team is not assigning spelling as homework to be turned in at the end of the week, but practiving at home will help them be successful on their weekly
