Teacher Bio

Hello! My name is Mrs. Tolman and I’m very excited to be a part of the 6th and 7th grade teams at Paseo Pointe! I’m thrilled to be your ELA teacher, and I’m looking forward to our adventures as we navigate the school year together. I can’t wait to learn all about you, but first I’ll tell you a little about me

I’m an Arizona Native, born and raised in the East Valley. I decided I wanted to be a teacher while attending the local community college and fell in love with the world of education! I transferred to Grand Canyon University for my bachelor’s degree and graduated in the fall of 2021. This is my second year of teaching, and I am humbled to be learning alongside my students.

I had quite the exciting summer! I became a mom to the sweetest little boy named “Jax.” As I began learning how to be a mom, it re-energized my passion for learning in the classroom as well. I want my students to walk away from this school year equipped to be lifelong learners in every facet of life!

I have a dog, Packer, who is a yorkie-maltese mix, and two cats, Rizzo and Charlotte. I love to read, sing, write, exercise, and spend time with my family. I love Disney everything and don’t even get me started on Taylor Swift… I’m a major Swiftie.

There is much to be excited about this year! We will be studying a wide range of literary genres as well as participating in engaging projects. My favorite thing to teach is novels, and we have many to look forward to! Some of the books we will be reading are Stargirl and We Beat the Street, both very different, but very entertaining novels. I can’t wait to meet you all and find the joy in our journey!
