Classroom Information

Welcome to Resource!

When a student qualifies for special education services, the IEP (Individualized Education Program) team meets to determine where they need help to be successful. Then, we decide what subjects and topics we need to practice and learn specific strategies to help complete those tasks. Groups in resource are set up by task. If a student needs help with math, then they attend a math group that focuses on the skills they need to acquire. These groups are 30 minutes long and focus on that skill or missing skills needed to perform that task. Since groups are set up by skill, then students may be in classes with students from other classrooms and even other grade levels. This allows our students to practice good social skills and make more friends. Most students attend resource classes more than once per week, depending on what their IEP team decided they need. We strive to keep all students in the general education setting as much as possible while providing the extra support they need to be successful in that setting.
