Welcome to Second Grade!

Here is our daily schedule.

7:30 AM Breakfast in the classroom  (I encourage all the children to start the day with a healthy breakfast)

8:00-9:15 Spalding Spelling and Writing   (we have a lot to learn so please have your child to school on time or even early)

9:20 Specials

10:00 Recess/snack   (youir child may bring an individual snack, there will not be a class snack served)

10:15 ELA

11:40 Social Studies/Second Step Social Emotional Learning

12:20 PM  Lunch/recess

1:00 Math

2:15 Science

2:50 Clean up and dismissal

3:00 End of school day

There will be homework Monday-Thursday and each child needs a composition notebook and yellow folder just for homework.  There will be spelling, math and reading fluency homework each week.

We also have a suggested supply list.

•  package of 12 Ticonderoga pencils (no decorated pencils please)
• one pair of kid scissors
• 4 glue sticks
• package of dry erase markers  (thin if possible)
• one box of 24 crayons
• over the ear headphones with a microphone
• 4 composition notebooks
• 2 boxes of tissues (extra is always welcome to give to the specials teachers)
• 2 plastic pocket folders- one yellow and one green
• erasers for end of pencil
• 2 pink erasers
• pack of small sticky notes
• two highlighters

Class wish list:  boxes of tissue, puzzles, fun games, water bottles, Amazon, Michael’s or Staples gift cards, thin dry markers, notebook paper, candy (peanut free), small prizes for incentives
