Teacher Bio

Michael Reppenhagen is a Secondary English Teacher at Paseo Pointe School. Known to most as “Repp,” Michael has been teaching for 9 years throughout the state of Arizona, focusing on adapting high-demand curriculum to the needs of multiple learners through game-based and experiential learning. His focuses on the intersection of various types of storytelling – memoir, music, and poetry – to help students find and sharpen their voice to meet the demands of the rigorous AZCCRS curriculum while developing a unique perspective on who they are as learners and people.

Prior to joining the Paseo Point team, he taught at ASU Preparatory Academy, as well as in the Roosevelt, Phoenix Union, and Legacy school districts. Before beginning the wonderful journey into education, Michael was a professional writer with work published in USA Today, Fox News and hundreds of other online publications. He is a two-time graduate of Arizona State University, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Print Journalism and a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education.

Despite being born and raised in Annapolis, MD, Michael has considered Phoenix his home for the last decade. Outside of the classroom, his passions include tabletop gaming, vegetarian/vegan food, professional hockey (C-A-P-S CAPS CAPS CAPS) and exploring the rivers and parks of Arizona with his dog, Charlie, pictured below in his natural habitat.
