Resources and Links

Hello!

Throughout the year, I use many different types of assignments to support learning. Listed below are some of my most frequent sites! ALL sites should have a “sign in with Google” feature. Your student was given and memorized their username and password for their Chromebook login. They enter this about 10+ times a day, so they should know it. To activate their “sign on with google” feature, they do have to sign in to Google/Gmail first.

1.) Log in to Google/Gmail

2.) Sign in with username plus the Laveen domain name. It should look like this: username@stu.laveeneld.org.

*Students usually forget the additional part in bold, since they are not required to enter that at school. That is the #1 problem with students accessing the curriculum at home.

3.) After students enter their password, they should be able to access all their google features like google doc for typing, Gmail for emails, google classroom for assignments, etc.

Here are the sites I use and a link to access them!

  • Google Classroom -by far, my #1 form of communication.
  • Discovery Education – the online curriculum with assignments and activities
  • Vocabulary/Skills Practice sites- these are all used as more of a memory and recall. Students can search and create their own sets to study and review.
  • BrainPOP -this site has short videos on a variety of topics (science, social sciences, literature, etc!) and activities students can do. I assign things on here frequently.
  • NewsELA – my favorite place for passages that align with the subjects I am teaching. The articles for reading are engaging and have a broad assortment of topics.
