It Was Out of this World!

                       download

Our first week of school in kindergarten was out of this world! I really enjoyed getting to know each and every one of my students this week. We learned how to be great Roadrunners by understanding and following our school’s R.A.C.E. (Respectful, Accountable, Committed to a Safe Schoool, Engaged) expectations in the classrooms, the hallways, the bathrooms, the cafeteria, and the playground. I loved learning about our phonograms, counting our numbers, writing our names, tracing the alphabet, drawing pictures, reading books, learning how to walk in a line, and laughing out loud at their funny jokes!

Thank you so much for making sure that they attended school on time every day and came prepared to learn. I can’t wait to grow in wisdom and knowledge with all of them. May you all be kind to support us and make this year a blast!

Best,

Mrs. Pilar

Fall NWEA Testing

Hello everyone!

I would like to inform you that Monday, August 9th, and Tuesday, August 10th will be our Fall NWEA Benchmark Testing days. Your support and cooperation are deeply appreciated to make this a success by kindly doing the following:

  1. Attendance is important. Please make sure your child comes to school on time every day during testing. The test session starts at 8:00 am and ends at 11:00 am. The students will take the test on a chrome book and headphones.
  2. Sleep early on the nights before testing. Kindly make sure that you let your child get at least 8 hours of sleep the night before the test day.
  3. Eat breakfast. Please provide breakfast on the day of testing. Our school provides free breakfast to all students in the classrooms from 7:00 am to 7:20 am only. You may choose to let your child eat at school by coming to class during that time frame.
  4. Provide a positive and happy mindset on the days of testing. A happy and confident child is known to have a great chance of performing very well in tests and in class.

Thank you for your support! If you have further questions, please call me at 602-237-9120 or email me at mpilar2@laveeneld.org.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Pilar

I would also like to say THANK YOU to all the moms, dads, older sisters/brothers, cousins, and aunts who were very supportive and patient in helping their kindergartener log in or navigate the test site. Your commitment to your child’s success in his/her first online test ever is commendable and impressive. I am very lucky to have such goal-oriented and accountable families like you. How to Submit My Google Classroom Assignments

Friday, 8/21/20

Hello, again wonderful kinder families,

This message is all about how to submit your child’s Google Classroom assignments. I know there has been so much new information that was provided to you ever since we started our Online learning classes. I would like to let you know that I am here to support you in any possible way.

I would just like to take this opportunity to share a tutorial video on how to submit your child’s assignments and avoid those “Missing Assignment” messages on your child’s stream and classwork pages. If you follow these steps, you will be assured that I get to view and grade your child’s hard work in their completed Nearpod assignments.

Please take some time to watch the video. I hope that it helps you make this school year an even more successful one for you and your child!

PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR THE VIDEO.

Thank you very much!

Best,

Mrs. Pilar
