NWEA Testing

Hello Everyone,
This is just a friendly reminder that on Monday and Tuesday, our class will be taking their Fall NWEA Assessments. The tests will start promptly at 7:30 am. Here is the breakdown of the testing schedule:

  • August 22, Monday – MAP Growth Math Test
  • August 23, Tuesday- MAP Growth Reading Test

Here are additional reminders to help your child be successful during these test days:

  1. Attendance – On those 2 days is very important that your child comes to school. It is also strongly                                                 recommended that you send your child to school early or on time to ensure that he/she can take                             the test that day with his/her class.
  2. Breakfast – Please make sure that your child eats breakfast before school to help them stay focused. Breakfast                        is served in the classroom daily from 7:00 – 7:20 am.
  3. Full Sleep- Kindly give your child a full 8-10 hours of sleep on the nights before the day of testing to help your                         child stay alert and focused during the test.
  4. Encouragement- Words of positivity and encouragement to your child during days of testing can go a long way. Remind your child to do his/her best!

Thank you very much for your full support in your child’s success in this year’s Fall NWEA Benchmark Assessments! If you have further questions, please contact me at mpilar2@laveeneld.org or at 602-237-9120.

Quarter 3 Incentive Fun Day

Guess what we had today in school? We had a chance to play, relax, and have fun with the inflatables (bouncy houses) that were provided by our principal, Ms. Goodwin to celebrate all students who have met and exceeded their goals this 3rd quarter. It was also a way to encourage perfect school attendance to all Kinder-8th graders for the coming 4th quarter.

I will try to upload pictures of your children with their peers in the Gallery tab to the left of this page. Kindly be on the lookout for those. Enjoy!

AZELLA Test is Here!

Dear Kindergarten Parents and Families,

I would like to let you know that on Monday, February 14, 2022, your child will be taking a very important test, AZELLA test. This is a state test that will provide your child’s growth in learning the English language.

Since it is a test that requires attendance, I strongly hope that you send your child to school on Monday and Tuesday in order for him/her to take it with our class. It is known that when a child takes a test with his/her friends, they tend to have that certain confidence and can receive the moral support they need in order to pass.

Here are a few tips that may help you and your child prepare for the big test.

  • Send your child to school on Monday and Tuesday.
  • Let your child have enough sleep the night before the test days.
  • Eat breakfast.
  • Please keep your child in school on Monday and Tuesday. No early dismissal. Make doctor/dentist appointments on other days.
  • Provide positive words and support to your child.

Thank you very much for your kind cooperation. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at mpilar2@laveeneld.org.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Pilar

Atentamente,

Sra. Pilar
