Teacher Bio

This will be my 18th year in education. I was once an Instructional Coach and have taught grades 4 through 8.  I taught abroad in Nicaragua, Central America for 5 years where I gained a sense of humility and compassion. My husband also happens to be Nicaraguan, and we’ve been married for 19 years. We only have 1 child…Olivia, who is 6 years old and is starting 1st grade at DME.  I am a proud Mexican-American Latina, and am bilingual in Spanish. I am an ASU graduate and GCU postgraduate with both degrees focused in the field of Education. When I am not teaching, I love to experiment with new recipes and jam to my music.
