Classroom Updates

Art at Home

Hello Friends,

Hope everyone is staying healthy!
Teaching art online has been a bit of a challenge, since I don’t know what materials that students have at home. Now that we are all getting adjusted to distance learning, I am trying to give the students some opportunities to experiment with materials and create in ways that we are unable to in a traditional classroom setting. Please visit my google classroom for current assignments:
K-1: ueyea24
2-3:  zf6is4v
4-5:  ydn7epj
6-8:  zhukyb7
We are now posting our homemade masterpieces to padlet “galleries” so that they can see each other’s work. Some of the students are still posting in Google Classroom or emailing me, so not all of them are represented here. I’m sharing them with you so that you can see that they have been creating. I hope seeing their cute little faces and their creations will brighten your day. 🙂
K-1: Nathan Sawaya Inspired Lego Challenge
2-3: Found Object Color Wheel or Sculpture
*Shout out to 2nd-3rd teachers! I’ve had the most engagement from this group!
4-5: Andy Goldsworthy Inspired Nature Art
6-8: Coffee Painting (Shading & Value)

Art Room Attire

Hello Ram Fam,

Please remember that creativity is messy, and we are VERY creative! We will try our best to stay neat in art class, but sometimes accidents happen. I will try to give students advance notice of when we will be using paint, but we are all human and sometimes we forget. On days that your child has art, please consider sending him or her to school in less than their very best uniform, just in case.
