Teacher Bio

Hey there! I’m Miss. Callis. This is my 5th year teaching altogether, and my 3rd year in the Laveen District teaching Self-Contained Special Education. I graduated Arizona State University in 2016 with a dual-certified Bachelor’s degree to teach General and Special Education. I absolutely love the unique population I get to work with in the Special Education community, and wouldn’t want it any other way. I have the unique ability to focus on a child’s social and emotional needs at school, before their academics, and it truly is rewarding. I love building relationships of respect with my students, as well as watching them build positive relationships with one another. As James Comer once said, “No significant learning occurs without a significant relationship.”
