About Our Class

Our classroom is filled with a diverse group of students with special needs. Although they are all very unique, they all have one thing in common: their behavior impacts their ability to make significant progress in a General Education classroom. This does not mean they do not have the ability to learn the General Education curriculum, it just means we need to give them a little bit extra support along the way. We start each day with a class meeting. It’s a great way to greet each other, see how we are all feeling, and set the tone for the day. We also participate in mindfulness, meditation, and yoga to help us get through the day. We work in small groups to get instruction that is specially designed to meet the needs of each child in here. We are beyond blessed with two class room aides, Ms. Andrea and Ms. Garcia. They help facilitate small groups, help with pushing in to general education classes, transitioning, and monitoring behavior campus-wide.
