Teacher Bio

Hello!

I am pleased to welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year. My husband and I moved here with our dog Chewie last summer,  and this summer we moved into our new home very close to Laveen. I have two children and two grandchildren that are a very bright spot in my life. I am excited to start a new year at Vista del Sur!

I love teaching! I am starting my 22nd year of  teaching with experience from K-10th grade. Before starting at Vista last year I taught  1 K-5 STEM for 12 years throughout my teaching career I have taught many grade levels and subjects. Not only is teaching a passion but I love to learn. I  have a PhD in curriculum and instruction, from Capella University, a master’s degree in educational technology and curriculum from University of Phoenix and a bachelor’s in early childhood and middle school education from Missouri State.  After completing my education, I continued to learn by completing programs for English Language Learners, and Leadership. This summer I spent a week at ASU in learning more about teaching Science!

One of my goals for this year is to create a positive learning environment that will encourage students to take changes and learn from their mistakes. I want student to love learning as I do and become lifelong learners.
