Teacher Bio

Hello! I have over 22 years of experience in education, and am so excited to start my second year in the Laveen Elementary District as an Instructional Coach for Gifted Education!

I was born in Tucson and grew up in the Phoenix area  I earned my Bachelor of Education degree in Elementary Education from Ottawa University and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Arizona State University.

Although this is my first year as part of the Vista staff, I have been part of the Vista community since my son started kindergarten at Vista in 2012. He has since moved on to Bioscience High School and will be a junior this year. My daughter also attended Vista from kindergarten to 8th grade and is joining her brother at Bioscience High School as a freshman.

I love to spend time with my husband, our two amazing kids, and our dogs Chuck and Bob. I love to travel, read, and listen to true crime podcasts!

My goals for this year are to build relationships with my students while I get to know their strengths and areas of need and to work closely with classroom teachers to help them stretch and challenge their gifted learners. I look forward to working with the gifted students at Vista del Sur, along with their families. Here’s to a fantastic year!
