Academic Integrity

Any instance of academic dishonesty will result in a failing grade and parents will be notified.

Attendance

Do not come to school if you are ill.  If you are absent from school, you are responsible for obtaining the assignments, notes, instructions, etc. from a responsible classmate. If you are absent when a quiz is given, you will be expected to make up that quiz upon your return.

Cell Phones, Wireless Headphones, and Personal Electronics

Cell phones, wireless headphones, and other personal electronics may not be used in class for any reason.  You can not have your cell phones, wireless headphones, or personal electronics visible during class so that you can remain focused during class. Cell phones, wireless headphones, and personal electronics must be placed in your backpack or in the basket on my desk.  Cell phones, wireless headphones, and personal electronics will be confiscated and returned at the end of the school day.

Guardians should always contact the office to speak with you, as calling/texting with a guardian on a cell phone is still a violation of the rules.

Grade Policies

You will receive two grades in this class, an academic grade, and an effort grade.

Academic Grade

The academic grade is based on the standards in the course.
To improve an academic grade, you may reassess, with the new score replacing the original score, even if it is lower.

B = 80% to 89%

C = 70% to 79%

D = 60% to 69%

Effort Grade

The effort grade is designed to reflect practice assignments, participation, and work completion.
Practice assignments will be due at the end of class, and you are expected to complete your work in class.
Late work submitted will receive a 25% penalty.  Late work due to an absence does not receive this penalty.
Effort Grade

Excellent = 80% or higher

Satisfactory = 60% – 79%

Needs Improvement = 59% or lower
