Hi, Buttercups (or, what’s up, Buttercup?)!

It’s still kind of a dreary day, but hopefully we will get back to our Arizona sunshine and be able to go outside and have some fun. Have you tried reading your novel outside? Put a blanket down and find a place to read. It’s nice, especially when we are so limited to where we can go. Think of it like being able to read wherever you want in the classroom during Independent Reading time.

Did you wear your favorite hat to “school” today? I did! Yay!

Today, you are going to do some research on what YOU find interesting in the world. Here are your steps:

ONE: Go to our Google Classroom and find the assignment for today. (code: cs3a5vx)

TWO: Choose a topic that interests you. Example: Dancing/Types of Dancing, How ____ is made, Why do we have to _____?, Food, etc.

THREE: Research – This is where you gather information about your topic. You will put information into the Doc that I have created. Don’t forget to copy/paste the URL so that you are not plagiarizing!

FOUR: Write anĀ INFORMATIONAL essay, slideshow, video, poster, or any other platform you would like about your findings.

***Here is the AZMerit rubric. Read the rubric before you begin your assignment, so you know what the expectations are!

FIVE: Once you have completed your task, make sure you share it with me (awright@laveeneld.org) and/or turn it in through Classroom.

Writing Standard W 7.2 – I can write an informational essay to examine a topic of my choice and convey ideas, concepts, and information using relevant content, in a logical organizational pattern.

I miss each and every one of you so, so much! Since tomorrow is Friday, what do you think about a Dress Down Day? I won’t make you turn your dollar in…shhhh, Don’t tell Dr. Caplinger. It will be our secret! Love you, all!

Love,

Mrs. Harp
