Teacher Bio

I am the 3rd child of six kids in my family. I was born in Utah but grew up primarily in this little city called Kingman, AZ. You pass through it on your way to Las Vegas! Now, my family is spread all over the world. A brother in San Tan Valley and one in Iowa. I have a sister living in the United Arab Emirates (near Dubai), Another sister lives in Michigan, and my youngest sister lives in Texas.

I received my Bachelor’s of Music Education with an emphasis on Secondary Instrumental Education at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ May 2011. Upon graduating at NAU, I accepted a position as Music Teacher at a school in the Buckeye Elementary School District where I was eager to start a Band program. During which, I was able to partner with the VH1 Save the Music Foundation to help provide Band Instruction to all of the 5-8th-grade students within that district. I put on annual Band/Music Festivals with the partnership of all of our district schools and the high school district schools. With our teamwork, we were able to take students to California to compete in the Music in the Parks Festivals during 2013-2019. I taught Band, Choir, General Music, and Music Theater until I was promoted to become a full-time District Band Director in 2017 to help mentor the Music Teachers across the district about Band, as well as support them with any of their other music instructional goals. In efforts to become the best coach and leader I could be for those teachers, I studied and received a Masters in Education Leadership  through the Arizona State University iLead AZ coursework in 2019.

During the pandemic, I met my husband and my 2 beautiful, amazing stepdaughters. We were married in May 2021 and moved to Laveen. I accepted the position as Music Teacher at Rogers Ranch and am thrilled to be a Mustang!
