Online Learning Expectations
Alright, let’s do this!
Students will need to log into Google Classroom each day in order to get their daily assignments. Some of these assignments will be assignments completed by the whole class and some will be given individually in order for them to continue working on their IEP goals (science & social studies will be whole-group and ELA and math will be more individualized). Bare with me in creating and using all of this as I am new to using Google Classroom and so are our students so we will be learning together.
–Xtramath.org will be done daily (10-15 minutes at most), this will be used to take attendance for the students. They will need to log in using my email (abennie@laveeneld.org), their usernames (first name and the first letter of their last, and then their pin #- which I can provide if they do not know). Then all they will need to do is complete it (make sure they race the teacher at the end of it will not go all the way through). I will be checking at 11 am and 4 pm daily to check for attendance so if they can please have Xtramath done by 4 pm that would be ideal.
-For science each day there will be a link posted on Google Classroom, students will need to watch the video and then do the activity that goes with it. Students can submit their assignments by emailing me (abennie@laveeneld.org) a picture of the assignment. If you have any questions let me know.
-For now, social studies will be the students watching CNN10 (link will be provided in Google Classroom each day) and emailing me one thing they either learned from the video or their opinion on something from the newscast. You may need to assist the students in sending in their answers but they should be able to watch the video on their own. We have watched this plenty of time in class and they share what they’ve learned or reflected on the video. The video is 10 minutes and then the “assignment” should take less than 5 minutes.
