Teacher Bio

My name is Sylvia Vazquez, this is my 6th year here at Rogers Ranch School. I previously taught at Wilson Elementary School. While at Wilson I taught 4th grade all subjects and 6th grade reading and writing.  I enjoyed working with both groups of students.

I graduated from Ottawa University in 2005 with a Bachelors in Education. I also obtained my ESL endorsement while attending Ottawa. I plan and look forward to going back to school to obtain my Masters in Education.

With my spare time at home, I love spending time with my family, my husband, whom is also a teacher, my two girls, Lucero and Rosella, and my son Martin. We spend much of our evenings at the pool during the summer, we go to the movies often, and when possible we travel to new and exciting places.

While at work I like to keep my classroom clean and organized. I enjoy planning fun activities that allow students to collaborate and share their learning. I enjoy reading novels and listening to my students read as well as sharing ideas with each other.

I love my career and see myself as a valuable resource and hope that my students take advantage and learn from all that I have to offer in the classroom.
