Teacher Bio

Hello 2nd graders and parents,

I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Mr. Santos Herrera and I will be your child’s second grade teacher. I am excited to be part of the DLI program here at Paseo Pointe. I am delighted to be teaching both languages to the students this year and I am looking forward to the coming year. This will be my third year teaching at Paseo Pointe and my second in the DLI.

I am originally from California, but I moved to Phoenix in 1994 and have been living in the Valley of the Sun ever since. Arizona is my home and I occasionally travel to California, especially in the Los Angeles and San Diego areas. Some of my favorite things to do is to watch anything that is Disney and Harry Potter related, as I am a fan of both brands. I have traveled to Disneyland plenty of times and it is one of my favorite getaways from the Arizona heat.

I graduated from Northern Arizona University in 2016 and I am currently attending Grand Canyon University. I am the first in my family to graduate from college and it’s important to me to illustrate that college is a possibility.

I am looking forward to be teaching second grade and doing great things in the classroom. I will commit to every student every day.
