Teacher Bio
Hello and thank you for visiting my webpage. I love working with gifted students. I have had 12 years teaching experience in 4th and 5th grade as a classroom teacher and this is my 7th year in Laveen as a Gifted Education Instructional Coach.
Originally, I am from Cleveland, Ohio and I have lived in Arizona since 1995. My bachelor’s degree is in Journalism from Arizona State University and my masters degree is in Elementary Education from Cambridge College (Boston). I completed my doctorate last year in organizational leadership with an emphasis on K-12 education. My dissertation topic is how teachers meet gifted students’ academic needs in regular classrooms.
In my free time, I love to spend time with my husband and two sons and our two basset hounds. We often camp and ride ATVs during the fall and winter and visit San Diego in the summer. In addition, reading is another one of my passions. I also enjoy skiing in Flagstaff during the winters. Probably my favorite thing to do is travel. I am fascinated with exotic places and cultures.
My goals for this year are to get to know my new students and help them meet their educational needs in the classroom. In addition, I am very excited continue working with teachers and I look forward to support them in challenging their gifted learners.
