On May 3rd, the kindergarten students of MC Cash School released their butterflies to culminate their Science thematic lesson about living things and life cycles. It was a perfect Friday morning to cheer on the butterflies to spread their wings and to be free. The students clapped, giggled, ooohd and aaahd, and a couple even teared up for they didn’t want their “baby” butterflies to leave. But just as the life cycle has to be fulfilled, these young learners have to accept and understand that life is full of changes- beautiful changes!

Keep Phoenix Beautiful Part 2
The Keep Phoenix Beautiful team gave their follow up presentation on the 3Rs to the kindergarteners last May 3rd. The students listened to a story that taught the processes of recycling as well as the importance of keeping our city and planet beautiful through conservation and protection.
The highlight of the visit was when Recyclesaurus came out to give high fives and take pictures with the students. It was a morning filled with fun and learning.
Muffins with Mom
Last May 10th, our class recognized the importance of reading a book a day while celebrating moms over a cup of juice and muffins. The moms were given a “flower pot” with their own child’s handprint flowers, a “Muffin Recipe of a Best Mom”, and a certificate for voluntarily reading a book to a child.
All moms were so happy to witness their child read to them a few pages worth of decodable stories. It was a very special moment to make the moms feel loved and proud!

Have a Great Summer Break
May 22nd, 2019 was the last day of the 2018-2019 school year. In order to celebrate their successes, the kindergarteners of MC Cash School had their End of the Year Celebration at 8:30 A.M. They performed 3 songs for their families and staff of the school. All students received their certificate of attendance and 4 of them were given a Perfect Attendance Award.
In behalf of the kindergarten team, I would like to say “Thank you” to Ms. Sandomir, School Principal, Ms. Goodwin, Assistant Principal, all certified and classified staff members who supported and assisted in the celebration.
To all families, thank you for all of your hard work and cooperation to make this year a successful one for your child! May you all have a safe and relaxing summer break!

Last Push to Excellence
Welcome, all to our fourth and final quarter for the school year! This marks the beginning of the last weeks to get our students well-accomplished with their Kindergarten goals.
By now, the students are working on reading 15 words per minute in their Reading Fluency goal. This can only be attained by reading to your child every night and by letting them read, read, read, and read some more. Practice makes perfect!
I also expect my students to be mastering their number counting and writing to 100 independently.
It is also at this time of the year when our students are expected to write their own sentences using sight words, decodable words, and phonetic spelling. I, therefore, encourage all families to spare a few minutes during homework time to let your child write sentences or stories independently.
Your support to make this an excellent year for your child is deeply appreciated!

Thank You, All Parents!
Last week was a well-accomplished week for me. It was great to be able to meet with 90% of you all! It felt reassuring to know that your child have the best supporters and fans in the whole wide world. Your attendance to your child’s parent teacher conference means a lot to your child’s success in school and life- in the long run. So, I would like to take this chance to thank you all for coming out and having such meaningful conversations about your child’s goals that strengthened our partnership to bring your child’s school year in kindergarten a successful start to many more years of learning and growing. Thank you!
Be-lated, “Welcome to the 2nd Semester”

This semester is filled with more fun and learning. This also marks the time to work double time to prepare your children for First Grade. So, buckle your seatbelts for a thunderous ride to successful kindergarten goals!
First MC Cash Winter Festival 2018
MC Cash School hosted its first ever winter palooza last December 12, 2018. It is an event with various activities that the MC Cash families attended. There were songs and concerts provided by the students, who were led by Mr. Patrick (Music teacher) and Mr. Gonzales (Band teacher). The families were also able to visit classrooms where the teachers hosted different winter activities which focused on literacy. In order to complete the festivities, there were food trucks that provided scrumptious burgers, fries, and tacos to all attendees. Do you want to see how it went? Please visit our Gallery Tab and check it out.
It was indeed an affair to remember. An affair worth looking forward to again next school year.
