MC Cash 17/18 Curriculum Night is on Thursday!
Save the date! August 31, 2017, Thursday, is Curriculum Night at MC Cash School. I can’t wait to spend some time with all of you starting at 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm to talk about how we can team up and plan for a successful school year for our kindergarteners and for all of us a Laveen School District community! Come! Grow and create hope for our children with us at MC Cash, a Kids At Hope school!
AIMSWeb Testing Week
This week, our Kinder through 2nd-grade students will be having their 2017-2018 AIMSWeb Fall Benchmark Testing. Our kindergarten students will be tested on their letter naming and letter sound fluencies. Each student is given a minute to provide as many letter names and letter sounds. It is then very important to make sure that your child gets enough sleep, a daily healthy breakfast, and sufficient practice in order for him/her to make a successful start in this basic skills assessment. Your full support is deeply appreciated.
I hope that all primary students, especially my kindergarteners, will do their best and show how much growth they can make starting from this first benchmark to our final spring benchmark assessments. You guys can do this! I am already proud of you!
A Historical/Scientific Event is Coming!
Who’s excited? We all are! This Monday, August 21st, is a big day for all of us in America. This day will make history, for this scientific event called the Solar Eclipse, has not happened in our modern memory since 1918. Yes, the last eclipse of this kind happened 99 years ago!
So, with all eagerness and enthusiasm, I would like to take this chance to provide a friendly reminder to all of this phenomenon’s effects on our vision. Please be reminded to not look at the event happening with your naked eyes or even with your regular sunglasses for these are unable to protect you from the harmful effects of the light emitted during the eclipse. You may use certified eclipse glasses or through pinhole boxes that will make this experience safe and enjoyable. There are also legitimate websites that will help you witness it in the safety of your classrooms or homes. I have provided a link to a site that I will be using with my kindergarteners sometime during the hours of 2017 Solar Eclipse.
May you all enjoy this once in a lifetime experience with safety and care!
Let’s Get Those Letter Names and Sounds Anchored In!
It is always good to know that we can be responsible and get one of our kindergarten big goals started right off the bat. Below, you will find a simple video about the alphabet and their sounds. May you enjoy it!
What’s To Do on the Second Week of School?
Get ready to work and talk about the different shapes all around. Here is a video that will help you remember their names and their characteristics. This is a compilation of many shape songs that gives learning about shapes an upbeat flavor to it. Enjoy!
It was a Great First Week of School!
My first week of school was made very special because of many reasons! Here they are as follows:
- My wonderful, great, 24 little Roadrunners who are truly RESPECTFUL, ACCOUNTABLE, COMMITTED TO A SAFE SCHOOL, and ENGAGED!
- Our supportive and strong administrators – Ms. Sandomir and Ms. Goodwin!
- The self-sacrificing coaches – Ms. Young, Ms. Davis, and Ms. Gonzalez!
- My fellow educators who are always ready to share a smile, lend a hand, and a word of wisdom!
- Our hardworking office and non-certified support staff – Ms. Delcy, Ms. Zayra, Mr. Raul, Ms. Dalila, Mr. Key, and everyone else in this superhero group!
- The entrusting and patient parents and the community whom the Cash Family and I are creating this contract of partnership to make this school year the best for all our Kids At Hope Children!
