Teacher Bio
This is my ninth year with Laveen Elementary, and I could not be more excited. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Special and Elementary Education with an Endorsement in Early Childhood Education from Northern Arizona University. Early intervention is a crucial support in a child’s success in school and life, and I am confident we will have a productive and fun school year!
I was born and raised in Arizona, and it is easily my favorite place. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, hiking, watching movies, and swimming! During the summer I am a manager for the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation, Aquatics Section. I manage a swimming pool, its wonderful lifeguards, and offer a variety of fun programs (including swimming lessons and water aerobics) for all ages.
I have wanted to be a teacher since I can remember, and am so happy I followed my dream. I have also been interested in Special Education since I was about 12 years old when I began to volunteer at the Foundation for Blind Children.
Early Childhood is such a fun and vital time in a child’s life, full of learning. One of the most important aspects that I focus on in our classroom is play. It is important to give children the freedom to explore, yet set boundaries and understanding of a classroom environment.
I look forward to learning more about your child and their family!
