Teacher Bio

Welcome to the 2022- 2023 school year! I am very excited to be your child’s first grade teacher; what an honor! First, I would like to introduce myself; my name is Megan Kajin. This will be my 18th year of being a classroom teacher, nine of those years have been in the Laveen School District. This is my 3rd year at Trailside Point and I couldn’t be more excited to be working with an incredible community! I have taught first through fifth grades during my teaching career. Teaching is the best job and I love being around kids to see them learn and grow!

A little about me….I am originally from the Big Sky sate of Montana. I graduated from The University of Montana Western with a B.S in Elementary Education. I moved to Arizona in 2001 to teach second grade. After teaching eight years, I decided to move to be closer to my parents in Minnesota.Four years later, I missed teaching and the desert! So I moved back to Arizona nine years ago and here I am!  I am a pet and plant mom! I have two rescue pets, that I adopted this year. Jolie, is my five year old green eyed cat and Brindi is my sweet four year old pit bull mix. I absoulutly adore them!  I like to tell stories about my pets to my class, so you may hear about them! I love to read, a good cup of coffee, walking my dog, Target and I enjoy watching TV more than I should. I enjoy spending time with friends and family and trying new restaurants.

I am looking forward to getting to know your child and your family this year, I know that we will have an awesome year at Trailside Point!
