Parent-teacher conferences are tonight and tomorrow. If you have scheduled a conference with your child’s teacher, please be sure to arrive promptly for your meeting to ensure everyone is in and out of their meetings on time.

Next week beginning on Monday we will be having our Quarter 1 Galileo testing. The testing schedule is as follows:
Monday: Writing
Tuesday: Reading and Math
Wednesday: Science
Please be sure that your child is here and on time everyday. Also, remind them that they need to be eating a healthy breakfast each morning before the test, and are getting a good night’s rest the night before. TSP does provide breakfast each morning free of charge for all students. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to email me!

| As you all are aware we have an arts festival coming up mid-November. The fifth grade classes will be doing a production of Cinderella Outgrows the Glass Slipper. We are in need of some costume materials, props, and set pieces to make this production come to life. Please review the attached lists and bring any materials in to Ms. Wolff, Mr. Besonen, or Mrs. Hill. We are in need of the materials before fall break and will have to find alternate methods for things not donated by then. Thanks in advance for your help in gathering any of these materials.

I also wanted to let you all know that the end of the quarter is next Friday, October 6th. Please be aware that the grades are split into two separate areas. One area that is graded is academic (tests, quizzes, homework, and grade level standards) and the second is effort (class participation, and work ethic). This means your child’s grade may be different than in years prior. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about grades.
Students are expected to bring their homework into class everyday. We will be doing homework checks on Tuesday and Thursday. If they are not completing their homework, they will be assigned to ABI for that night (Tuesday or Thursday).
The expectation is that students have read and logged their time in their reading log with at least 2 signatures by Friday. Also needing to be completed every week is their spelling to 30 boards, vocab menus, and math homework. After fall break, the math homework will be completed online in the google classroom. If your child does not have access to a computer, please let me know, and we can arrange for them to stay after school to complete it.
Also, the expectation is that students are writing in their agendas and you are signing them on a daily basis. This lets us know that you are aware of things they need to have completed, or events that are going on around campus.
FIELD TRIP FORMS ARE DUE TOMORROW FOR STUDENTS WHO WANT TO ORDER A SCHOOL SACK LUNCH!!! If your child will be needing a sack lunch from the cafeteria, we are sending in the lunch orders tomorrow. So, if you’re child’s permission slip is not in by tomorrow, they will be unable to get a sack lunch from the cafeteria for the field trip.

We are having a $1 dress down tomorrow to benefit the victims of the Earthquake in Mexico. If your child would like to participate, please send them with $1 and they may dress down in school appropriate clothing.
Trailside Point “Superhero” night is this Thursday September 21 from 4:30-8:00 pm. It will be hosted at the Laveen Peter Piper Pizza. Join us for a variety of games, contests, and other activities! 15% of all the food, beverage and token sales benefit our school and PTA.
