Classroom Updates

Students who have not had any absences for the month of September may dress down on Friday, October 7th.

The Fall 2016 Book Fair will be taking place daily in the Vista library from 7:30am-4:00pm Monday, September 26th through Friday, September 30th.

Things to Know:

1. We will be doing a book raffle. Students will have the chance to purchase a gold coin for just $0.25 and place it in the bucket corresponding to the book they would like to win. At the end of the week we will draw a winner for each book! We thought this would be a great opportunity for kids to win a great book at a bargain price.

2. We have set a goal of selling 1,000 books during our book fair. If we reach this goal, we will have “Dress Like a Pirate Day!” Once we reach our goal I will get the date communicated to everyone.

The Grand Canyon Commitment form is due by September 16th. All forms can be accessed from any of the 4th grade teacher websites on the page dedicated to Grand Canyon information. All other forms and payment is NOT DUE until March 3rd.

Picture day is September 9th! Your child should have brought an order form home today.

Please join us in enjoying some delicious ice cream on Thursday, September 1st from 4-7pm.  A portion of all proceeds go directly back to Vista!

If anyone has a small stepping stool at their home that they no longer need, our ELA classroom would happily take it off your hands! Some of our kiddos are having difficulty reaching the top shelf of the bookshelf in our classroom. Please let me know via email at: kmaldag@laveeneld.org. Thank you!

Curriculum Night will be held on Thursday, August 25th from 5-7pm.

Mark your calendars! On Tuesday, August 30 we will be hosting a parent meeting to provide you with information concerning 4th grade’s class trip to the Grand Canyon. This includes details about destinations, cost, chaperoning, and more!

We are now collecting Box Tops! Please send them in cut out and in a plastic bag and/or paper clipped together so that none are lost. Thank you!
