Teacher Bio

My name is Mr. Evangelista, and I am excited to be teaching 6th Grade ELA again this year! This year will be my 7th year teaching 6th Grade ELA and my 8th year at Vista del Sur. Before coming to Vista, I taught English at Liceo de Musica (Chile), San Francisco State University, U.C. Berkeley Extension, and Arizona State University. I have an M.A. in English and am passionate about helping students develop their reading and writing skills in an exciting and challenging classroom environment.

In addition to my continuing professional development, I am very proud of my wife and my 5, yes FIVE beautiful children. My success can be directly attributed to their unfailing love and support.

Lastly, my hobbies include Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, traditional woodworking, blacksmithing, leatherworking, reading, and gardening.
