Dear Students and Families,
Here is news from Coaches Lamb and Copatch about physical education during our online learning: Students can do this often but our designated PE weeks are Week 5 (this week) and Week 1 (next week).
The physical education team at our school is working with resources from
OPENPhysEd.org to help you stay physically active and healthy while our schools are
closed. In order to meet physical education goals during this time, students must be
physically active for a minimum of 30 minutes each day. (preferably 60 minutes)
Remember, activity time doesn’t have to happen all at once. You can add up your total
activity throughout the day to equal 60 minutes. Students, at the end of each day, let
your homeroom teacher know what activity you chose and how many minutes you
exercised.
It’s easy!
Step 1 – Go to www.openphysed.org/activeschools/activehome
Step 2 – choose ANY activity that you want! That’s right…YOU get to choose. For once,
you get to overrule Coach Copatch! You can even choose other exercises that aren’t
even on the website. Anything that will keep you active during the quarantine.
Step 3- Let your homeroom teacher know these two things: 1) the activity you chose
and 2) how many minutes you did the activity.
There are a lot of fun activities on the website. There is even a new section on social
distancing activities!
Thank you for your cooperation. Stay active and stay well.
Sincerely,
Coach Copatch
