About Me

My name is Erin Scagnelli and I am the Assistant Principal at Vista del Sur Accelerated Academy.  I have been in the Laveen Elementary School District for 10 years, serving as a third grade teacher, seventh grade Language Arts teacher, and an instructional coach.  During this time, I have also participated in tutoring programs, supported student athletics, and hosted math and language arts student clubs.  I am a life-long learner and a reflective practitioner.  I have a passion for students and it is my mission to positively affect as many students, staff members, and community members as I can.

I believe that with a positive attitude, a growth mindset, and good character anyone can achieve great things.  I strive to instill those qualities in our young people and to be a positive role model as well.  We are all here to learn together.  It is my goal to provide a safe and nurturing educational environment that challenges our students to reach beyond their expectations to become lifelong learners who will make the world a better place.
