Welcome to 8^th grade Social Studies, LET’S GET READY FOR AN AWESOME YEAR!

Hello! My name is Dennis Matthews, and I’m thrilled to say that this is my 13th year teaching Junior high school here in Phoenix. I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Psychology from Jackson State University in 2004, and a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Phoenix in 2006. Before I began my teaching career I served our country for eight years in the United States Navy. Besides being a Veteran and an Educator, I am a Husband, Father, and a Coach. I enjoy spending vacations on the beach, grilling, fishing, watching football, and spending time with my family.
