5th grade Science
Hello,
My name is Ms. Vail. This is my 4th year at EFGA. I have been an educator for over 16 years now. I began my journey as an early childhood specialist, owning my own preschool. This gave me the opportunity to be fully involved with my own 5 children while raising them in Flagstaff AZ. While my youngest was finishing elementary school, I went back to school myself and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in elementary education from Northern Arizona University. I began teaching at a Flagstaff Public school on the Navajo Reservation. I loved learning about the culture and being involved in helping prepare students for college at this NO Excuses University Elementary School, the first on a Native American reservation.
In 2014, with my children all grown, I moved down to the Phoenix west valley area and began a teaching position in Tolleson. I loved working in Tolleson and made many lifelong friends with parents of my students, and students themselves. In 2020, as the pandemic began, I finished up in Tolleson and made the move to help launch a beautiful new school in Laveen, called Estrella Foothills Global Academy. I started with teaching Math and Science, then after a couple of years, 4th grade returned to an all academics classroom. I continued in 4th grade until this year, when I was approached to teach 5th grade science. It was perfect for me because I really love teaching science. I love the magic that is science. I love watching children engaged and enjoying learning. I cannot wait to involve students with hands on projects, STEM activities and Project Based Learning, It’s going to be an exciting year!!
