Teacher Bio

I  am so excited for a new school year to begin!  I am confident that we will have a great year and that your child will academically and socially succeed!

I started teaching in 1999 and I am going into my 23rd year of teaching!  I have taught kindergarten, first grade, fourth grade, and third grade.  I started my teaching career in sunny Southern California, where I was born and raised.  I moved to the hot desert of Arizona in 2005.  I have taught in the Kyrene School District, Litchfield Elementary School District, and now Laveen.  This is my fifth year as a Vista Tiger and I couldn’t be more excited!  I have my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University and my Masters Degree in Teaching with an emphasis in reading from National University.  I have three children, Jacob who is a sophomore in High School, Aliyah who is in the 8th grade, and baby Naomi who turned 5 in July and will be in Kindergarten at Vista!  I met my husband Jason in college and this year we will be celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary!  I love to shop, watch my kids play sports, travel, and spend time with my family and friends!

I believe in developing challenging, enriching, and engaging lessons and activities that address the diverse interests and needs of my students.  I believe in positive reinforcements.  I set high goals for my students with the “I can do it” attitude.  I believe all children can succeed, no matter of their circumstances!  My class is a family, where everyone feels welcome, safe, and respected!
