Never forget you are your child’s first teacher! Here are a few things you can do at home to get your child ready to return to school.

Academics:

• Ensure your child can write his/her first and last name.
• Recalls all letter sounds in the alphabet and additional sounds taught through Spalding.
• Can read a simple passage/ story and retell key ideas and events.

Personal/Social:

• Ensure your child can tie his/her own shoes.
• Offer strategies to cool down when upset, stressed, or frustrated.
• Encourage your child to speak up when he/she needs help.
