Teacher Bio

My Name is Mrs. Smith and I teach art here at Laveen Elementary School.  As a child I was lucky to to be born in and live in many different countries all over the world.  Growing up in these rich cultural environments really sparked my passion for art!  After moving to the United States, I finished school and  received a bachelors degree from ASU in Fibers, which is art using textiles.  After I graduated, I move to LA and became a floral designer for movie stars, musicians, and other people in the industry. Then my husband and I moved to New York were I continued in the same line of work.  After being in the floral industry for over a decade our I decided to move back to Arizona were our family is and begin a family of our own!   I returned to school to earn my post baccalaureate degree in art education at Rio Salado.  Now I have an amazing little boy named Oliver and work with all the amazing children at Laveen Elementary School!
