HOMEWORK POLICY

  1. Students will have homework in Reading, Mathematics, and/or Writing from Monday through Friday.
  2. Students should spend between 1 to 1 ½ hours daily on their homework. It isn’t healthy for students to stay up for three to four hours or midnight to finish homework when they are struggling with the concepts.
  3. If a student is struggling, they will need to bring their unfinished homework to class the next day and there will be individual tutoring time on the skill for the student.
  4. The homework will be graded in class the next day. Most of the homework will be a review of skills that have been taught or are being taught.
  5. **THERE is a difference between Homework and Class Work. All class work will be completed in the classroom.
  6. Sometimes there are unforeseen family events that will prevent a student from completing their homework. If this occurs, please send an e-mail or a note.
  7. Thank you for helping your child to complete their homework. Additionally, all students will benefit to read daily. Having a Library card to a Public Library inspires students to develop a love for reading. E books are also great!
