Teacher Bio

Hello my name is Amanda Kaufmann and I teach English Language Arts for seventh grade at Cheatham Elementary. I have been teaching for the past thirteen years and love teaching middle school. I moved here to Arizona over thirteen years ago from Michigan and am a HUGE Detroit sports fan. I am married to my wonderful husband Dave and we have a three year old daughter named Ashlynn, so these are the two people I love to spend my weekends with!!! I received my undergraduate degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. I received my first masters in elementary education from Northern Arizona University and my second masters from NAU as a Reading Specialist. I am currently working on my PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in psychology. I look forward to meeting and working with your student in my ELA classroom.
