The benefits of learning to play an instrument

Hello everyone and I hope fall break was nice and restful. I came across an article that I want to share with everyone. It is about the benefits of learning to play an instrument. There are many benefits to it not only aesthetically but intellectually as well. I hope you can take the time to read this to learn what you or your child can benefit from learning to play an instrument that will hopefully encourage future participation.

CCHS Junior High Band Night

Just a reminder that this Friday, September 29th,  is the Junior High Band Night at Cesar Chavez. Students need to be there at 5, in a Paseo Pointe shirt, to rehearse with the high school group. Parents should probably be in the stands by 6:30 to see the pregame performance with all of the kids. Students will be able to play through the game with the high school band in the stands through 3rd quarter then can stay the rest of the game or go home. I look forward to seeing everyone there!

Instrument Rental

I still have parents asking for info on how to get an instrument and any supplies which is great! I love all of the interest we are having in band this year. Unfortunately we no longer have a Milano depot in the area to get supplies. A really convenient way to get anything you need is to get on the Milano website and order it. Then it can be delivered to the school by one of the reps that comes out to Laveen when they come for the week!

Cesar Chavez Junior High Night!

Cesar Chavez High School has invited us to participate in their junior high night. It is on September 29th. our students that participate will be playing with the high school band at a football game. This is for 6-8 grade students If you are interested keep that night clear. I will post more information as it becomes available

Beginning Band

Beginning Band has started and students are making a lot of progress. Please encourage students to continue to practice making a sound on their instrument and holding it correctly. We are to the point where they are all getting a good sound out regularly. I am seeing a lot of progress in my class from the students! Keep up the good work!
