About Mr. Cline

Dear Parents and Guardians,

My name is Ken Cline, and I will be your child’s 7/8th grade science teacher this year. I have a very busy and exciting year awaiting us! My classroom instruction and activities are based on educational principles of Rigor, Relevance and Relationship. Students will work with quarter-long shoulder partners and small task force groups to develop their own understanding of the concepts taught in class prior to receiving any direct instruction from me (the teacher). Using  the principles of Rigor, Relevance, and Relationships, along with student focused self-inquiry investigations, students will learn and understand academic concepts quicker and with a deeper understanding.

I want your child to be happy and successful at Laveen Elementary and believe that you play a key role. That role is to continually show interest and support for your child. The child who knows that his or her family is interested and supports the school program will almost always have fewer problems in school and will enjoy greater success. I believe in fair and consistent discipline that encourages students to be responsible for themselves. In my classroom I create a safe environment where courtesy and kindness prevail. Please share any information regarding your child’s special needs that will help me better serve your family. I believe that communication among parents, students, and teachers is critical to assuring student success. I can be reached at kcline@laveeneld.org or via voicemail at 602-237-9110 Ext. 3169

Sincerely,

Mr. Ken Cline
