Teacher Bio

Hello, I want to take this time to welcome you and your child to Miss Cooper’s “learning safari”! We are getting ready for a learning adventure ride! A good experience on that learning adventure is built on a cooperative effort among parents, child and teacher. I look forward to the work and growth we will accomplish on this learning safari ride together this year.

Furthermore, I would like to take this time to introduce myself. My name is Irene Cooper and I will be your child’s kindergarten teacher for this year. I am from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. I graduated from Western Michigan University in December of 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. I graduated in December of 2014 with my masters in educational leadership at Northern Arizona University. This is my 10th year teaching kindergarten  in the Laveen School District and I am very excited to have yet another wonderful year.

In my free time I love to run, hike and I enjoy the outdoors. Coming from Michigan and relocating to Arizona I can’t wait to explore the outdoors even more without those long cold winter months!! I am excited for this school year and I know with enthusiasm and yours as well, we are going to have a year to remember! I plan on working hard with your child and dedicating all my time so that they are reaching their goals and achieving at the highest academic level. I am encouraged and motivated as I plan to prepare your child to excel in the classroom and in our community as well.
