Family Background

I was born and raised in Southern California. I am the 7th child of 8 children. Both of my parents are from Louisiana. I have been married 22 years and have 4 awesome children. My youngest is 9 and my oldest is 19 years old. My husband is retired law enforcement and he owned an investigation business for 8 years. My family has resided in Arizona for the last four years. In California, we lived in what is known as “the high desert”. The weather was much different than that of Arizona’s desert.

Educational Background & Experience

I received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Human Services from California State University San Bernardino. I earned my first teaching credential from Cal State University San Bernardino as well, this allowed me to teach kindergarten through second grade. My second teaching credential in Special Education from Chapman University allowed me to experience a very special population of children. Eventually, I moved from California to Arizona where I continued my education, earning a mild to moderate credential and masters degree in special education  from Alliant International University. This is my second year of teaching in the Laveen School District and I absolutely love it!
