Mrs. Allen: Social Studies and Science

I am very excited to be teaching 6th-grade science and social studies at Vista this year.  This is my ninth year teaching at Vista and my twenty first year teaching. I live here in the Laveen community. I am thrilled to be part of this wonderful community and amazing Vista family!  I find it extremely rewarding to be able to make a difference in children’s lives and encourage them to show good character, always work to their full potential, and become lifelong learners.

I am originally from Chicago, IL, and I graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2000.  I also earned an MA from American College of Education.   I have lived in Phoenix for 19 years now.  The most important people in my life are my husband and three beautiful daughters.   In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, yoga, and most importantly, spending time with family and friends. I am looking forward to a wonderful year!
