Welcome to a new school year!

I hope that everyone had a great summer!!! I am so excited to teach art this year and see your student’s wonderful artwork.  My class will follow the quarterly schedule and my lessons will be available on my google classroom.

Artsonia!! Upload your own artwork!!

Do you want to show me, your classmates, and your family the amazing art that your creating at home??? Now you can!!

The program that we use to upload our art at school will work from your house as well!

Instructions:

1.    Students login to the “Artsonia Classroom” app
Students photograph and upload their own artwork, as well as optional titles and artist statements, using the Artsonia App for iOS/Android or browsing on a computer to www.artsonia.com/class.
2.    If you have not yet registered your child on Artsonia,you will need to do so first.  I have sent home these permission slips on selected artwork for the past 2 years.  I you still have any you can use the information on them, it stays the same every year.  If you don’t have one, or if your child is new, please email me with your child’s name/grade/homeroom teacher and I will get you the information needed to register.

3.     Once you are registered you will select the “students” button and enter the classroom access code:      XWXS-NWKY 
4.     Select your grade, class, and name then click the yellow plus sign to add your artwork.  I have created a folder to upload artwork to called “Home Art Projects.”  Please only upload work to this folder.
5.     Please give your artwork a title and tell me about it in the artist statement. You are able to edit your artwork too!
6.     After submitting your artwork it will be sent to me and I will review it.  If something needs to be fixed I will send it back to you to for changes.  If everything is correct I will approve your artwork and it will be available for everyone to see on the program!

Learning about Pablo Picasso and Leonardo Da Vinci

Good Morning Everyone!

Today I have uploaded some links about two different artist Pablo Picasso and Leonardo Da Vinci.  There is a really fun art project for Pablo Picasso too!!! If you can’t open the links I suggest going to the National Geographic Kids site and click on the “primary resources” tab.  Here you will find many activities and educational material for art as well all other subjects!

Good Morning Everyone!

Today I’d like to share some resources for some fun and educational ipad/iphone apps:

NGA Kids Art Zone 

This is an awesome FREE app that allows kids to manipulate different styles of art through multiple activities.  I believe this app is only available for ipads….

Let’s Create! Pottery HD Lite

This is a FREE app that allows kids to experience throwing a pot on the potters wheel.  Kids get to create a vase, decorate it, and then try to sell it!

Artsonia

We are trying a new program where students can upload artwork to a website called artsonia.  Students will be able to view their art online, gain a fan club, and families/friends can order items with the student’s artwork on it!!
