Welcome to 5th Grade U.S. History!
Over my 25+ years of teaching experience, students have had many different attitudes about learning United States History. The biggest factor in appreciating history and understanding the impact on our world is understanding that history is a STORY. History is the STORY of humanity, with all of its strengths and weaknesses. It’s the STORY of regular men and women who were put into positions to make a huge impact on their community, nation, or world.
It is my job as an educator to bring those stories to light. In my 5th Grade United States History classroom, we look at the people, places, and events that impacted the past and might still impact us now. We will also have fun doing it!
